I believe all input on this very serious issue for Halifax is important. Let's put the names on the table, good, bad, in-between, it doesn't matter. The important thing is to talk about it, tell your friends about it, tell them to tell their friends about it.
Halifax needs a champion, let's find one and elect that champion.

I would suggest that this person that made these comments has not had a Peter Kelly experience. I was speaking with the character before the election with an issue that related to my respective community. He assurred me personally that he wou he matter a couple weeks after he got settled if he won. He took my name and number. Upon winning the election and I waited for a month - I then proceeded to make calls to his office and he totally refused to nswer my call or even let on he knew me after I left my name and number with his gatekeeper.
I have been pissed with the character since day one and have more respect for dog dirt than I do for him. Its time to DUMP the spineless character and get a mayor with some spunk and family jewels and a VISION for the city.

Well, I have had my negative experience with this time waster and its time he was voted out!
I spoke with the character prior to him becomming Mayor of this city about an issue within my community that the prior councillor negated to do anything as he was in the back pockets of the locals and Kelly PROMISED me that he would visit the matter after he got elected if I voted for him. He asked that I wait a couple weeks for him to get settled in
I waited a month before I started calling him to which I left 5 messages with his gatekeeper and he refused to return my call. I called the final time and repeated this situation to the gatekeeper and she assured me she would make sure it was brought to his attention. Still no call years later.
I find him a useless ass kisser that has no family jewels, NO VISION for Halifax( he became mayor for his ego reasons only) as he has done nothing for a legacy in the city other than make an arse of himself with the Commonwealth Games. When the councillors call his bluff and call him a liar - that speaks volumes of his character.

Someone who can take the off peninsula feelings of isolation and turn it's focus to what it's potential is what is needed.
Turning divisiveness over the HRM name into the unity of our strengths is the major qualification.
Tim Olive's letter this week shows a reality of execution combined with a vision of developing the "brand" of the City of Halifax by initiating a system of boroughs that maintain and enhance the individuality of Dartmouth, Bedford, Lower sacvile and the County.
It seems to work well for New York, with Borough of Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island and Manhattan.

Of the folks already listed Alexa is as corrupt as her party is. I approached Maureen M in 2002 about the Housing and police abuse in her area and despite all the non-black victims she did nothing too afraid to lose a black vote yet had MM known the black community as she claims to know she would have known that advocating for the termination of sociopath and racist Irvine Carvery, property manager in Housing, would be the best thing to happen to the black community in a long time.
I reported Maureen's classism and refusal to help victims in the Northend, many of them seniors-all non-black, to Alexa who did nothing!
Alexa like Maureen think diversity is hiring black folk to carry their bags...
I also gave Kevin Deveaux all the crimes committed by the Dept of Justice starting with Susan Potts in 1992 to present day. Kevin did what all NDP do: RAN.... only he took it to a new level, he left the country LMAO..how was KD the critic of both Dept of Community Services and Justice and both departments are corrupt top down? What was KD doing all that time?
NDP no longer exists in Nova Scotia: much like the Liberals, we can hear them but cannot see them doing anything of value..
Dawn Sloan is a weak pathetic excuse of a woman who supports rapists. Do you remember that it became national news that someone cut her flowers? OMG if she put that much concern into her community it would be safe. I have been part of several community functions in her area and she has not attended many. The ONLY ones I see her at also have media in attendance. I know many in the black community that demand things from her and laugh at her when she does it because they know she like Maureen M are too scared of being called whitey.
