why not explain why he has to go. Ending the Commonwealth Games Bid took leadership LOL. It certainly wasnt done in the way sue uteck would like but hey Kelly really didnt have any choice . the province pulled the money and the house of cards feel down. Abuja, Nigeria is going to win regardless if Halifax, Glasgow or both were opposing Africa.
The so called polls in favor of the commonwealth games was a joke. A great gasp of relief was heard when the Games bid ended and that showed responsiblity and leadership.

and what type of leadership can anyone do with a 278 million dollar debt hanging over the city? There are many liabilities coming forth like an aging water main system that had a bursting open a couple of weeks ago. You have the Provincial and Federal government agencies like Department of Defence and the NSCC closing down ice rinks so the party is over for the HRMs couple of decades of free rec centres.
The only leadership you will see in the future that make sense is for the city to get its act together and start paying down its debt in a big way. That will come with a great deal of pain and loss.

Question 1. What has been done about crosswalk safety after the accident on Pleasant St. where a little girl was killed? Answer - Very little I noticed some solid white lines were painted at each stop sign in Ridgevale subdivision in Bedford. Like that was needed. That was a waste of time and paint. Question 2. Should the HRM Council meetings on Eastlink channel 10 be moved to channel 49, the comedy network? Answer – Yes I have tune in every now and then and I shake my head in disbelief that these people are allowed outside their homes. This council needs to be replaced...all of them. Lets wake up Halifax and when the next electon comes around, have a real good look at who you put your x next to.

Finally some solid action on getting rid of this chump. As someone who regularly works for HRM I know that there are folks inside the municpality who would love to get rid of this Ned Flanders. Please keep it up and hopefully he will be out on his ass come election time.

At the end of the day, those of us who have dealt with Kelly can tell you one thing for certain. His "leadership" style is characterized by words such as 'expediency', 'self-serving', 'vendictive', 'hostile', 'lowest common denominator'. Peter Kelly is not a leader. Peter Kelly is the consumate glad hander and baby kisser. He is a shallow, hollow populist who won't broker anyone messing with his 'image'. Peter Kelly doesn't 'get things down', rather he is the master of the 'hurry up and do nothing but make it look like your really busy' strategy.
It doesn't matter how many others have done the same thing. What matters is, this type of politician has landed us where we are today. Which is to say, in debt, services crumbling and a city run by staff rather than those whom WE elect to govern. It's ass backwards and Kelly is one of the worst I have seen at interfering with the proper functioning of Council. As much as any member, Peter Kelly was responsible for much of the gridlock and inefficiencies of Council over the years. As Mayor, he certain hasn't made it any better...and that folks, is the very best you can say about him.
As for Sheila Fougere and/or Sue Uteck. Ask yourself this..wouldn't you really rather have someone running the show who is competant, dedicated, and who will give you a straight answer instead of some mealy mouthed figure head who filibusters until somebody gives him the poll numbers?
Personally, give me Sheila or Sue any day.

Yes sue or sheila the two so headstrong to put the city in 200 million dollars of debt minimum for the commonwealth games . With the no more the 33 percent funding from the feds to a maximum of 396.5 million those two would have still been pushing the commonwealth games.
Sheila is a very uneducated person when it comes to the opponents Halifax was against in the commonwealth games bid. SHe actually said if Halifax could not afford to Host how could an african country. Sheila it is very simple Nigeria has no Foreign Debt and is sitting on 43 billion of foreign reserves with OIL Exports from the 6th largest oil reserves in the world selling for 70 plus dollars a barrel.
Yes it is one thing to have dreams of hosting a commonwealth games it is another to have the ability to host which a hamlet like Halifax does not have.
Abuja is going to win because of politics and it will further make the exercise that Sue Uteck and Sheila Fougere wanted to continue LOL.

You know everything is subject to the readers intrepretation. I believe you are supporting the wrong person or being the mouthpiece for the real person behind this. Kelly is doing better than what we have ever had, or he wouldn't have been in council this long. Do you really think anyone else will do a better job.....as for concerts...if he didn't support it, people would be upset with him and when he does support it you say it's a waste of time and money. Peter has done a good job.....some things maybe not so good but who is perfect!
Sheila and Sue are good councillors but in that role do you really think they would do any better, I would give them a year and you will be posting a site "dumpsheila.com" or "dumpsue.com".
