Who's palms are being greased 2007/09/11 11:03 Karma: 0
Obviously Major Kelly has not tried to get into or out of Sackville and Beaverbank during rush hours.

How can new developement continue to be approved when the infrusture is not in place.

If an emergency occurred and a need to evacuate, this would be dissasterous for the families of these areas.

In the past members of the council have uttered the work "bribary" and then the next day they have retracted their statements. "What is going on?". "Who is running HRM?".
Kelly or contractors/developers?.

Neither. The Heritage Group and the Homeowners Association are the ones calling the shots.
Time for a Mayor of Champions!

Contender:

I have no problem with the HRM moving forward. However the developer is reaping in the rewards while the tax payer is being burdened.

As I mentioned above when areas are being approved for developement I believe that infrusture should also be in place. How about a developement that is "planned". A plan that is capable of sustaining present and future developements. Major Kelly, councellors and the land development department should purchase the game "Sim City".

Take a look around who in the heck is approving all these new "shove them anywhere" subdivisions. What overcrowded schools should they send the children. The roads are inadequate to handle the increased traffic. These are just a few concerns as a homeowner I have.

The only one I see winning here is the greedy contractor and who's hand is he greasing?

The problem is that the idiots running HRM, both staff and council, don't believe we need new roads. They believe that by not building new roads and letting traffic problems get created that it will encourage people to take the inadequate transit system. Council hates new roads and refuses to build them, thanks to the enviro-loonies that think everyone can walk or ride a bike to work.
