The followig has been released to local news and media organizations:
Guardian Angels Halifax Chapter
After seven years in office, Mayor Peter Kelly still insists on talking about crime. The time for talking is over.
DumpKelly.com is pleased to announce that Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels, has accepted DumpKelly.com's invitation to organize a chapter of the Guardian Angels in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The Guardian Angels is a non-profit, international, volunteer organization of unarmed citizen crime patrollers.
"I just finished reading about how a 15 year old, in Halifax, beat a Senior Citizen with metal table legs. We would be more than happy to organize a chapter for Nova Scotia", Sliwa told DumpKelly.com.
Sliwa recently presided over the first graduation ceremonies in Edmonton where six volunteers will begin their first patrols, focusing on a north side avenue plagued by prostitution and illegal drugs.
The Guardian Angels already has a chapter in Calgary and is now looking at setting up a chapter in Red Deer, where the RCMP has welcomed their foot patrols.
RCMP Superintendent Brian Simpson said recently that the Guardian Angels presence on the streets helps prevent crime and apprehend criminals.
More details on the Halifax chapter of the Guardian Angels when available.
The time for talking is over, it's time to take action.

This is excellent news. I have held a long-standing respect for Curtis Sliwa and his organization.
I'm listening to Mayor Kelly on Rick Howe's Hotline right now. Howe asked Kelly's opinion on The Guardian Angels coming to Halifax and he was as usual totally noncommittal. Then he went into his scripted spiel about how the feds aren't cooperating with municipalities and haven't released one promised new police officer.

Peter kelly refuses to tell the people how he feels. Should this come as a surprise? At least we know he holds the feds responsible for the crime on the streets in Halifax.
His plan remains the same - more talk.
After seven years, the time for talking has passed. It's time to take action.

The television news station previously known as ATV with anchor Steve Murphy has comfirmed that DumpKelly.com's initiative to get the Guardian Angels in Halifax has been accepted by organization founder, Curtis Sliwa.
Sliwa will visit Halifax, with members of other chapters, to walk the streets of Halifax in October. The walk is intended to boost awareness of the Guardian Angels, and kick-off the campaign for volunteers.
DumpKelly.com did NOT receive credit on the CTV Atlantic news broadcast for this initiative, despite our cooperation with news anchor Steve Murphy and reporter Marc Patrone in helping them with this story.
You can decide for yourself if this was a case of "protecting" the mayor from criticism.
DumpKelly.com will have another MAJOR announcement for the citizens of Halifax in the very near future.
Mayor Peter Kelly and council want to continue talking about crime, the citizens are taking action.
We need our politicians to do the same.

You mean DumpKelly.com cooperated with CTV, Steve Murphy and Marc Patrone for this news item and they still didn't tell their viewers how The Guardian Angels were contacted and by whom??
Well anyone who listened to Steve Murphy being interviewed by Rick Howe a couple of weeks ago knows how Mr. Murphy feels about DumpKelly.com. When Howe asked him his thoughts on this website, Murphy was rude and dismissive. Almost makes one wonder if Murphy is openly protecting with Kelly...pre-election campaigning so to speak...
And here I thought that reporters were supposed to be completely unbiased and report both sides of the story....
